Connected Lighting Solutions

Energy efficiency doesn’t just save money, it creates intuitive environments for those that use them.

Control Your Energy Output

We design all scales of lighting control systems to reduce carbon foot-prints, curtail energy use and reduce operating costs. Methods of control include occupancy sensors, relay panels, wall-box dimmers, wireless devices, room controls, BAS-integration and more.

Design Processes

While LED’s have become more mainstay, not all technology is created equally. LED’s also perform differently than other historical illumination sources, making guess work on quantities and lumen packages risky. Now, more than ever, the importance of running photometric studies of volumetric spaces is imperative to insure a successful ambient environment.

Photometric Analysis

Photometric analyses or lighting layouts are names for simulated lighting designs. The objective is to determine if the proposed lighting scheme meets minimum standards set by IESNA for a variety of commercial, educational and hospitality applications. Photometric analyses enable the lighting specialist to make recommendations regarding the type, lumen output, distribution and quantity of luminaires. Utilizing this special software allows the specifier to verify results in advance of approving the luminaires for purchase.

3-D Photometric Rendering

Studies can also be used to gain building permits for site improvements, verifying emergency egress requirements or validating task level illumination.  Layout specialists can add a variety of parameters and obstructions (buildings, trees, cars, walls, furniture, etc.) to determine the impact on overall light levels.

Feature Studies

Isolating special walls or features within a design schematic can help guide the designer on the type of light fixture to recommend when creating a special illumination effect. Many architects and engineers use these studies when presenting final lighting concepts to their clients. These are helpful since product performance, distribution and installation requirements can vary from product to product.

Tracking Project Loads (Wattage)

Indiana currently adheres to the 2010 Indiana Energy Conservation code based on ASHRAE 90.1-2001. In order to obtain commercial building permits designers must submit Com-Check paperwork outlining the project wattage loads based on the proposed light fixture schedule. In order to assist designers and engineers with this task, we can provide a wattage tracking chart during the photometric study phase.
